Training
Our commitment to developing competent and reliable maritime professionals is reflected in our training, recruitment, and familiarization programs.
Cadet Training
At ALF Shipping, we take pride in nurturing the next generation of maritime professionals. Our principals have consistently benefited from our structured cadet training programs, which have successfully guided cadets to reach the prestigious ranks of Captain and Chief Engineer. We currently offer cadet placements across Reefer Cargo, LPG Tanker, and Chemical Tanker fleets, ensuring hands-on experience and progressive career development.
Seafarer Development
We can recruit trainee seamen who receive their academic foundation from recognised nautical colleges. These trainees are placed on board vessels to complete a mandatory one-year training period at sea. Upon completion, they return to obtain their Watchkeeping Certificates, qualifying them to rejoin vessels as fully certified and competent seafarers. Through continued guidance, performance monitoring, and placement opportunities, we support our seafarers in progressing through the ranks, helping them build long-term maritime careers.
In House Familiarization
To ensure alignment with our principals’ operational standards, we conduct in-house familiarization sessions led by experienced senior officers and engineers. These programs provide essential vessel-specific training and reinforce safety, compliance, and procedural understanding before deployment. They also serve as a valuable platform to address any specific operational expectations, improve crew readiness, and ensure smooth integration into the vessels’ working environment.
